Boundless Gratitude: Songs of the month

I Can Imagine Peace

(Boundless Gratitude)
2001
Music and lyrics by Hassaun Ali Jones-Bey (ASCAP), copyright 2001
This song was written in 2001, shortly after the September 11 tragedy. It's posted as the song of the week for the last week in May 2008 by special request. You can find a version of it on CD Baby in my musical storytelling opus, "How Paper and Ink Came Together and Survived to Sing About It", on CD Baby. As it turns out, I've just finished a substantial rewrite (essentially written a new song based around this theme as a chorus) that I hope to release soon for reasons that will be explained then, but that I expect will be obvious upon listening to the new version. Peace.
I can imagine peace, love, healing on Earth.
I can imagine peace, love, healing right now.
I can imagine peace, love, healing everywhere.
I can imagine peace, love, healing right now.

You can imagine peace, love, healing on Earth.
You can imagine peace, love, healing right now.
You can imagine peace, love, healing everywhere.
You can imagine peace, love, healing right now.

We can imagine peace, love, healing on Earth.
We can imagine peace, love, healing right now.
We can imagine peace, love, healing everywhere.
We can imagine peace, love, healing right now.
